After the first synthetic result was published, the estimated gaming performance result of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card has now been revealed, which shows a 2.2x increase compared to the RTX 3090 with ray tracing and DLSS enabled at 4K resolution.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card more than twice as fast as RTX 3090 with ray tracing and DLSS support at 4K resolution, presumably
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card will be the green team’s flagship offering in 2022. Various leaks and rumors have swirled around the map throughout the year, but as far as we can tell, the launch is more or less expected around the fourth quarter of 2022. With 3-4 months left before the launch, the rumors are now shifting the focus from specs to performance numbers.

While we’ve heard of an alleged synthetic benchmark for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 that almost doubled performance in the 3DMark Time Spy Extreme benchmark, now the alleged gaming benchmark has been released. @XpeaGPU which states that the graphics card is tested and delivers over 160+ FPS in Control at Ultra (RT+DLSS) in 4K. The specific model tested is listed as an “AD102 High-Power Draw” variant, which may indicate that this is an overclocked model.
Compared to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 in High-Preset using RT and DLSS we get up to 2.2x, so if we run the previous flagship in Ultra-Preset we get up to 2.5x. x win, which is just ridiculously huge. Our test also had the DLSS factor set to the quality preset, and we don’t know what DLSS setting was set in the supposedly leaked test. Quality mode prefers IQ FPS, while performance mode does the opposite and lowers IQ a bit.

So it looks like you’re expecting between 2% and 50% performance improvement for the RTX 4090 depending on the version of DLSS that was used for the intended test.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 was expected to deliver 2-2.5x performance gains, but this was only expected in synthetic benchmarks. If gaming performance is also close to those numbers, then Ada Lovelace could be one of the biggest performance jumps over the green team we’ve seen to date. Overall, if this result is correct, then enthusiast gamers are definitely in for a 4K-over-100fps gaming experience that will become a reality.
Thank you. I don’t know how to discuss this 800 watt beast. In fact, its PCB is very small, but the cooler is very large. 😱😱😱 Expect good news from you. https://t.co/6nKJHVtwc1

In similar news, Kopite7kimi claims that the AIB model of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card can score 20,000 points in the same 3DMark Time Spy Extreme test. This will be a 2x win over the RTX 3090 Ti and a 70-80% jump over the RTX 3090 Ti which is the flagship of the current generation.
I think the overclocked version of the RTX 4090 from AIC can reach 20000 points in TSE Graphics. I’ll take it for granted.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Specs Rumored
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX RTX 4090 graphics card is expected to feature the top-end AD102-300 GPU, but only the “Ti” variant will feature the full chip. The GeForce RTX 4090 will use a slightly stripped-down configuration.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 will use 128 SMs out of 144 SMs for a total of 16,384 CUDA cores. The GPU will ship with 96MB of L2 cache and a total of 384 ROPs, which is just insane. Clock speeds are yet to be confirmed, but given that the TSMC 4N process is used, we expect clock speeds to reach or even exceed the 3.0 GHz range. The number of cores is 56% more than the RTX 3090, so many things like the clock, cache, architecture, and various other technologies greatly improve performance.
In terms of memory specs, the GeForce RTX 4090 is expected to come with a 24GB GDDR6X capacity that will run at 21Gb/s over a 384-bit bus interface. This will provide throughput up to 1 TB / s. This is the same bandwidth as the existing RTX 3090 Ti graphics card, and in terms of power consumption, TBP is said to be rated at 450W, which means TGP could be lower than that. The card will be powered by a single 16-pin connector providing up to 600W of power. It’s likely that we could get 500W+ custom designs, as we saw with the RTX 3090 Ti.
The graphics card is expected to be released in October 2022, followed by the rest of the Ada Lovelace line of graphics cards with GPU.
