YouTube channel Max Tech recently shared a teardown video of the new MacBook Air, which gives you a peek inside the updated laptop.

Overall, the internal design of the new MacBook Air is similar to the previous model, but the flatter chassis has allowed Apple to fit larger batteries inside the laptop. According to Apple’s technical specifications, the new MacBook Air has a 52.6 Wh battery compared to the previous model’s 49.9 Wh battery. However, Apple says the 2020 and 2022 MacBook Air models offer up to 18 hours of battery life on a single charge.

The teardown shows the new MacBook Air’s logic board, which includes the new Apple M2 chip. As Apple confirmed last week, the teardown also reveals that the 256GB model of the new MacBook Air has only one NAND chip, resulting in a 30-50% drop in SSD speed in performance tests compared to both models. capacity of MacBook Air models and the previous model with 256 GB of memory.

Repair site iFixit will likely eventually post a more detailed breakdown of the new MacBook Air.
